As early as I can remember, I have always been in the field of early childhood. However, professionally, I began in 1999 working as a teacher assistant in the Head Start program in Central Virginia. Shortly after, I was enrolled to complete the 120 hours needed for the Early Childhood Development program. In 2003 I co-owed a licensed child care facility in Amherst Virginia and shortly after the birth of my third child, I opened and operated Best Start Early Learning.
For the last eight years, I have been contracted by agencies to provide observations, training and support for teachers, directors/owners seeking credentialing. I have supported child care providers all over the United States with accreditation, evaluations, observations and resource support. I am currently the Director of Business Development for the Training Academy at Family Central Inc.

Let's Talk Instructional Support
"Crystal Swinton was my instructor in the FCCPC/CDA class. She is a wise ethical professional that is a sensitive and understanding person in the way she communicates. During the class she made me think and reflect on my practice, build new knowledge, and she helped me make some changes to improve my teaching strategies. I felt very comfortable sharing my weakness or doubts because she always listened carefully, shared her experiences and answered me to help me improve my practice. She made me believe that I can do it. Her life experiences truly has inspired me and I’ll never forget her as my teacher."

"Mrs. Crystal Swinton was my CDA teacher in 2015. She is a very nice, helpful and caring teacher. She cares for her students and is always willing to help them with anything needed. I know that if I ever need help or guidance with anything related to school, I can count on her. I was very happy I had Miss Crystal as my teacher."
